Avanti Facilitates Academic Collaboration Between Roskilde University and The University of Electro-Communications

University of Electro-Communications

Avanti R&D announced a new chapter in academic collaboration between Roskilde University (RUC) in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) in Tokyo, Japan. This marks a significant step forward in advancing smart city research and innovation, building on Avanti’s successful collaborations with both institutions.

Since 2020, Avanti has partnered with Copenhagen Public Transportation to implement its groundbreaking MERMAID sensors and Re-Identification technology at the DOLL Living Lab, Denmark’s largest smart city testbed. This collaboration has enabled significant advancements in traffic management and environmental monitoring, providing real-time insights for sustainable urban development.

A New Era of Academic Exchange

In November 2024, RUC and UEC signed a student exchange agreement, facilitated by Avanti, to engage students in joint research projects. These projects will focus on smart city data visualization, sensor technology, and urban mobility solutions—key areas where both universities are pioneers in research and development.

This partnership will not only foster academic exchange but also bridge the gap between Denmark and Japan in smart city innovation. By bringing together students and researchers from both countries, Avanti aims to contribute to the development of more sustainable and intelligent urban environments.

Looking Ahead

We look forward to supporting the next generation of researchers and engineers in their pursuit of creating smart, resilient cities. Avanti remains committed to driving collaboration and innovation across international borders, shaping the future of urban mobility and environmental sustainability.
